Inspired by Design....

It seems interesting to me that this image doesn't appear as simple as it is in reality.
I catch a glimpse of a distorted face in the centre, eyes, nose and mouth. It seems uncomfortable, yet the shape of the mouth portrays an emotion of warmth and curiosity. I would say uneasy yet interested.
There is an overwhelming brightness spurting from the four corners of the image, which in my mind represents a powerful surge of the desire for clarity and knowledge.
I find that my perception of this abstract image represents how I feel this week.

As a first year student in the first week of the FdA Design for Graphic Communication at the LCC, I can safely say it is rather challenging. We learnt about blogging, success in photography, we gained some great documentary tips and had a great intro to visual culture and theory. I am thirsty for knowledge and clarity but am pulled back by emotions. It all feels very overwhelming, new surroundings and unfamiliar territory. My face feels distorted as I look around and feel lost in the crowd. It's only the deep desire to succeed and the self imposed pressure that is keeping me going, maintaining that portrayal of warmth and curiosity on my befuddled face. It's seems to be a very deep and meaningful image- or is it just a plastic bottle?
