St Bride Library

Today I went to St Bride Library. It was really interesting to see how much one subject alone involved. When I heard we were going to hear about the history of printing, I thought it would start at the beginning of the 20th Century, but to my surprise, we travelled back two thousand years. I found it fascinating to hear how different countries from all over the world were responsible for creating the printing process. Each played their different parts but together formed the most fascinating creation that we find so vital in our lives. As a future Graphic Designer, I am extremely grateful to all those people who had a part in the evolution. My career would not be feasible without it.

When Nigel started to speak about 3D printing, I actually felt my head blow away! No joke!! It is so scary to think about how advanced the world already is. I didn't think it could be any more advanced!

I was also really inspired by how passionate Nigel was. It taught me a really big life lesson. It is really important to find an area of work that you love and not to just make money. I really hope to bare this in mind when choosing a job in the future. The way one presents oneself really reflects on the attitude towards their work.

Here is a picture of the library. This is only a small selection of books but the entire library consists of 4 kilometres of shelves!
